This particular Christmas I took on the task of designing the holiday cards for my friends and family. Armed with grand ambition I thought it would add a personal touch to not just design them, but also execute them entirely by hand. The result was great – personal, loving and unique, but my hands ached for weeks after!

It was tricky taking on this task because I was sending them out to loved ones of various faiths and beliefs and wanted to be inclusive without being annoyingly PC. I decided to use an abstract interpretation of Christmas trees (black and white triangles) and an excerpt from one of my favourite Christmas carols instead of the traditional blanket greetings.

I think they are beautiful if I do say so myself! Next year, however, I will be printing.
